found the source of the problem. It looks like it was
related to restarting a backup with 0.75 that was
started with the 0.6.1 

I did a new clean backup and it seems to be working
correctly!

Beautiful, wonderful software by the way! Sure beats
my previous method of just tar/gziping everything over
ssh. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
