Are you running it as root? The problem looks like it has something
to do with the --change-source-perms option (I don't think this option
is necessary if you are running as root, at least under linux). So
this isn't a complete solution, if it works without that option in
narrows something down.
About the 600MB log, some other users have complained about the
length of the log files. I will try to do something about that later,
but not for the next version, which I am trying to get out by
tomorrow.
